The whale sharks come to Holbox Island and Isla Mujeres off the Yucatan coast where the Gulf of Mexico waters and the waters of the Caribbean Sea merge. This plankton laden nutrient rich area is where Whale Sharks come to feed in the months of June, July and August. This “plankton bloom” provides the environment for this area to have the highest concentration of Whale Sharks in the world.

We will pick you up in your hotel in the morning and board our 35’ Yacht at the Punta Sam pier, north of Cancun. From there it is just a short time to travel to the area between Isla Mujeres and Isla Contoy, where the whale sharks can be found feeding on plankton. You will have the opportunity to get in the water and snorkel with this most amazing and docile creature. Besides the whale shark we might also see surfacing turtles, manta rays and even wild dolphins. You will be able to take the most impressive close-up pictures! On our way back to Cancun we will stop at a beautiful coral reef where you will observe all types of colorful Caribbean fish.
